Liberal leader sniffs chair of female staff member or Troy Buswell .... yeuch

If ever there was a reason to vote Labour over Liberal, Troy Buswell is it.
Question: how does a man who ‘sniffs the chair of a female Liberal Party staff member’ (irrespective of whether this gesture was driven by perversion, or that testosterone-fuelled-showing- off-thing some men do in front of other men to get a laugh, or because, he sniffed before he thought about how this might look to the general public, more than half of whom are women) get to stay on as Liberal leader in Western Australia?
First he denied the allegations. Now he’s crying and taking stress, and ‘having a difficult time on a personal level.’ Forgive me while I vomit into a bucket.
Troy Buswell – get out of government. You’re an embarassment.
And Mrs Buswell, please whatever you do, don’t add insult to injury by ‘standing by’ your creep of a man, like all those wives whose high-powered husbands have been found rollicking with prostitutes or interns.
Troy Buswell, men like you are the reason women choose to stay single.

Isn't it unbelievable? I also nearly puked when I watched this on the news last night.
I felt he was about to say something like, "I'm incredibly lucky that I have such an understanding wife." Of course that's when the tears came - probably because that statement is so ludicrous. What's to understand?? That he's a total wanker, perhaps?

I have zero tolerance for this kind of behaviour at the best of times, but from a politician... a so-called leader. It maddens me in a way that few things get my blood boiling. I swear, right there we have the fundamental asshole gene some men are afflicted with - and I feel sorry for decent guys out there who just get tainted by this kind of behaviour. Not all men are assholes. But when they are, like Troy Buswell, they really do it in style.
I have to work so hard to be compassionate when I hear this kind of story because my impulsive reaction is probably not very evolved ... maybe we should feel sorry for him. I feel sorry for his wife who has clearly married a man of great spiritual finesse, not to mention a real gentleman, an inspiring role model.
At the very least he needs to get out of government. I could live with that and try to forget about the public humiliation I think he deserves.
